INR joined World Currencies

Indian Rupee

A warm welcome to the newcomer! Popular currencies Dollar, Yen, Pound & Euro now have a new friend - Indian Rupee (INR).

All these days, Indian Rupee was using the notation 'Rs'. Thanks to D. Uday Kumar, a Bombay IIT post-graduate from Tamil Nadu for designing the new symbol of Indian Currency, which is a combination of 'Ra' of Devanagari and Roman 'R'.

Rupee Foradian is the font required to digitally type the new symbol of Indian Rupee. You can download the Rupee Foradian Version 3.0 font and install it in your Computer. After installing the font, you can type the new Indian Rupee symbol by selecting the Rupee Foradian font and hitting the tilde (~) key.

Cool wallpapers of the all new Indian Rupee Symbol is designed by BrandMango Team and is freely available for download here.

(Just a couple of days left for ITR Filing for Assessment Year 2010-11. A writeup of mine about ITR e-filing is available here)

Amazing!

A couple of months ago, the scenario were quite different. I was wondering why Sun was so harsh on us! They were the hottest days I ever happen to see in Bengaluru. Now, it’s exactly the opposite.. been quite some time we could see the Sun coming out from behind the dark clouds.

Today morning, on my way to office, the Sun kept himself fairly visible for a moment. I felt to open my arms wide and let every part of my rusted body be energized by the powerful rays of Sun. It felt as though Sun wanted to ‘just say hi’.. and I did not miss his pose:

A few meters ahead, it was drizzling.. I just can’t imagine! No other way for me than closing my arms tight to keep myself warm. But, the drizzle was too mild, soft and soothing.. I just took my helmet off:
Nature – is all unpredictable; lovely; amazing; and powerful. Isn’t it?

(Niyati)

ನಾನು 'ನೀತಿ is a Good Girl' ಎನ್ನುವಷ್ಟರಲ್ಲಿ ನೀತಿ ಕಪಾಟಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ನನ್ನ ರೂಮಿನ ಕೀಲಿ ಕೈಯನ್ನು  ತಂದು ನನಗೆ ನೀಡುತ್ತಾ, "key ತಗೊಳ್ಳಿ" ಎಂದಳು.

ನಾನು 'thank you ನೀತಿ..'

The Unsaid..

Past: We Two; Ours Two.

Present: We Two; Ours One.

Future: We Two; Ours None!!

With the changing days, the concept of Family Planning is also changing. Why not?

Modernization and Urbanization has increased the awareness among people in the Society, that women are no longer be treated as what they were from ages ago. Continuous efforts have made life better for women amongst men. Men are no longer the only 'bosses' and Women are no longer the only 'slaves'. We all are convinced that, women enjoy a better position in Society. Good.

According to a recent analysis of figures collected from the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka (under National Rural Health Mission - NRHM), 99% of those who underwent sterilization during 2008-09 are women. I repeat, 99% of those who underwent sterilization (family planning operation) during 2008-09 are women.

Family - the basic unit of Society, still seems to be under the strong clutches of victimizing women. Though often we speak to substantiate that women enjoy almost equal status as men in a Family, it seems to be too far from reality. Why should only women undergo family planning operations alone? Are there no ways available to sterilize men? There are.. but men opt not to!! Why so? Have we ever thought of this?

Great people have been dreaming of the so-called Moral Society, not from today, way back from ages. But, with such a thing happening to women in the very basic unit of Society - Family, how can one expect Morality in the whole system of Society? This clearly shows that we (men) are not wholeheartedly sharing our social status with them (women). Have women gotten the justice they deserve?

I just feel that the change should be initiated right in the Family, and not in the Constitution with the '33%' thing. We shout aloud in public that women are given reservation in education, jobs, buses, railways, panchayats, parliament, what not? But, we never say what have we given to them in the Family!

Stats Speak the Unsaid - with 99% of them subjected to family planning being women, the torture on women does continue to exist in Silence and in Abundance. So, my dear 'gender counterparts', please be prepared; your turn is not too far..

"To write some thing, you have to read many things I mean writings of great authors"

My Sins Against Gender Stereotypes

It was a real surprise to me when Guddu, a friend of mine tagged me to list (at least) 10 things that I do or like to do, which are not Manly. I was like 'he he'.. what on this earth made Guddu to explore the Girly in me? Anyways, thanks for tagging me Guddu. The tag is:

If you are a Women
Have you ever wanted something that is considered 'manly'? Like a basketball, a cell phone, a dog, a camera or a new laptop? A new car or motor bike? Ever wanted to be a pilot? A doctor or not a nurse? And the manliest want of them at all - The remote!
As a kid did you enjoy playing with a bat and a ball?
There was a time when books were considered 'manly', women authors had to pretend to be men - would you say books are still rather manly - women should want to embroider or crochet?

If you are a Man
Have you ever wanted something that only women are supposed to want - like bags, shoes, clothes, creams, perfumes, babies, flowers? A peaceful home and a happy family? Have you ever been afraid of the dark or of insects? As a kid did you ever want to play 'teacher teacher', cooking or did you like playing with a doll? Have you ever enjoyed cooking? Bought something in pink? Loved chocolates?

:: My List ::
  1. Face wash gel, a fairness cream and talcum powder are those which I don't miss using everyday and so, carry  them everywhere when traveling. Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash, Vaseline Men and Himami Navratna Cool Talc are my current product range.
  2. I usually remember the 'dates' well and fond of anniversaries. May it be the birthday of a n(d)ear one, the day I joined my first job, the day I bought my bike/car, the day I met someone very special in life.. remember and rejoice them every year.
  3. Somehow, I don't talk with 'eye contact' to anyone. Many a times have tried to see at the other persons eye while conversing, but a moment or two, I take off.
  4. Let it be a rakhi tied by sister or a gift presented by a friend or all my old cell phones or anything I use for that matter; never let them go. I treasure every simple thing in life and keep them very, very safe.
  5. When alone at Home, I don't get out for food. Love cooking at Home and eat. Organizing a recent get-together dinner at work, the way I sliced cucumber for salad had impressed my colleagues.
  6. Since childhood, am very fond of wearing ear ring on my left ear. Mom says, since my ears are not pierced, I don't listen to elders! Now, my profession, to some extent has kept me off the left ear ring.
  7. 'You sweep well..' my close friend told me when I was cleaning my room. And yes, its true, I do sweep well, guess better than any of today's girl; like to keep the premises tidy.
  8. Monotype Corsiva, the font am greatly impressed with, is said to be feminine.
  9. Prefer to stay back Home than outing; that isn't Home-Sick. Since childhood (and even now!) Mom complains that I don't go out for shopping, at least to get vegetables and groceries.
  10. PURPLE - usually catches my attention. Purple is very close to Pink - the lovely girly.

I would like to say that everyone interested are already tagged. So, please give your go now..
